Assay: Untargeted LC-MS Lipid Profiling

Our LC-MS Lipid Profiling method (Untargeted Lipidomics) is carried out using UHPLC-Orbitrap-MS. In order to capture a wider range of complex lipids, samples are run with two ionization modes (Positive and negative). Data provided is semi-quantitative in the form of peak height, adjusted for internal standards.

Metabolites commonly identified include monoacylglycerols, diacylglycerols, triacylglycerols, various phospholipids and lysophospholipids, sphingomyelins, ceramides, and cardiolipins. Identifications are made using the LipidBlast spectral database, in combination with our in-house database generated using chemical standards.

SPLASH® LIPIDOMIX® surrogate internal standards representative of different lipid classes and multiple instrument internal standards are utilized, as well as BioIVT plasma for intra- and inter-batch variability assessment, in addition to replicate analysis of pooled QC study samples.
